100 Deviations of Swordmaking by chioky 100 Deviations of Swordmaking by chioky
This deviation that I have uploaded is my official 100th Deviation on Deviant Art. So this deviation of course it has to be somthing special of course, but how? I typed "100 deviations" into the DeviantArt search engine and all that came up was pictures with fanart and a big "100" printed on them. So I wanted my 100th deviation different from all the rest, how can I do that? by relating it to swordmaking. So I wrote out "100 Deviations of Swordmaking" on MS Word and printed it off. I then grabbed my katana and proceded to cut it in half, then I got a photo of me cutting it. Quite a unique concept dont you think?

I have created 100 deviations of swordmaking in almost 1 year. May next year I achieve all my goals and ambitions and have another 100 deviations of swordmaking to amaze you with ^^

* Actually if you look in my gallery stats it states I have 99 deviations. That is both true and false. It is true becuase one day one of my deviations got deleted randomly, which wasnt my fault. Its false becuase when I tried reuploading it with the same name, it said the name was already registered.

* Also the wind would not stop blowing and the paper kept flapping. Even more so the katana was heavy and holding it in that position long enough for several photo's was not fun. After the photos were done I cut that paper straight in half. It isnt sharpened by the way.

* Also thanks for eugenidesofattolia for choosing the photo and Kozuma for adding the photo effects

my inspiration comes from whenever I look at a sword. When I look at a sword as a swordmaker I see hundreds of possibilites that I could add concepts to ^^

The secret is not to talk with your head but your heart. The mind can conjure up flattery however they might not be true all the time. If your a natural charmer then you conjure up flattery from your heart which is always true. Since I have really low standards its natural for me to flatter XD

Hehe. You have a high manor of speaking. XD.

I use smaller words XD. Long words hurt my ego <3.

*Thumbs up* Hundred and counting. Good luck. Hopefully, you'll make a wooden sword company some day. Hah, then anyone can own swords legally. And cheaply.

On the other hand (pun for two-weapon fighting!)...Since you have swords, why don't you just go train for Kendo or something? The training will do either of two things: Kill your passion for swords, or reinforce it.

Cause...well...I think you need the work out, too.

Oh, and by the way. Don't swing that sword around. It's likely the sword will bend and break if the tang or steel sucks. I should know. ;_;

You bet I need I to work out

Never said you had to make a living out of it. It could be side income, not at all strange. And i guess having Kendo anywhere is hard. For some reason, they're not as common as i hope they'd be. Or fencing, either. On the other hand, you can self train with sticks and the like. They give you a workout and they're quite fun.

And thank GOD you don't. The last time i swung a replica samurai sword, i was...13...14? Around that. I swung it so hard, it bent ninety degrees starting from the tsuba. It fuckin' SCARED the crap out of me then. And the funny thing is, the steel was so soft you could bend the damn thing back up.

Moral of the story being, if you don't buy a katana at LEAST 300 pounds or a hell lot more, you're going to find you have a new boomerang after the first few swings.

I cheated and used scissors lol if I tried cutting the paper with an unsharpened katana it would just rip the paper not slice it ^^
