Bleach: Murcielago by chioky Bleach: Murcielago by chioky
Ulquiorra Schiffer: Murcielago (Black-Winged Big Demon): [link]

:bulletblue: Blade Length: 30 inches
:bulletblue: Handle Length: 10 inches
:bulletblue: Total Length: 40 inches

This sword is handmade with no power tools (except a drill) out of strip pine wood and its full tang. Ah finnaly the second sword of the Second Bleach Sword Project is done only 6 more to go!! Lets hope we find out its name so I can change the title.

I had trouble with the handle wrapping. To me every other part of the sword is to my satisfaction except the handle wrapping. Since I didnt have the correct colour handle wrap I couldnt use hockey tape which I was familiar with. So I had to try and use the ribbon handle wrapping. Now I spent hours trying to work out how to do it, the ribbon being very weak didnt help atall. Until I worked out how to do it through hardwork the secret is you have to make sure the knots are really, really tight. I mean close to breaking point tight, only when the handle wrap is really tight will the handle look clean. Since this is my first time using it, it isnt going to be perfect but I will improve!!

Wow! This has got to be one of the most beautiful curved blade of your swords. I was slightly disappointed when I looked at Sode no Shirayuki but clearly you have improved a lot!

I read you had trouble with the hilt wrapping. May I suggest that you use a long strip of double sided tape in both edges of the hilt. It saves time and trouble and it will hold the wrapping in its place for show and if you ever use it. Thatís what I did with my Ulqiorra blade. And donít forget to burn the ribbon at the ends so it doesnít fray. If you do this it would make it alot easyer for you ^^

Also I am not a sword maker I read your tutorial to this. very interesting. are the swords stable enough to fight with them (though I guess the paint would suffer)? Or are they just for show?

they are just for show, you would be hard pressed to find swords that look the part and also fight witjh

you know i wonder if it makes a difference what kind of ribbon you use. because i used a gosgrain ribbon rather than a satin one and i didn't have so many problems with slipping and such. by the way, the handle turned out really well! i used your tutorial and a random sword i had.
[link]

i know it's not the best picture but it's the only one i have with the sword. just thought i'd share this with you.

I do not have access to different types of ribbon, only different types of decorated ribbon unfortunely, there all satin and such and are too sleek

you use a "random sword" eh? did you make such a sword O.O

I will be honest, I can barely see how good the handle wrapping XD, its good, but I a think I am more distracted at how pretty and bright you look O.O

really? i dunno i just sorta popped into the fabric store and found some ribbon. :/
and unfortunately i didn't make the sword. i don't have the time. i sort of sanded one that my brother bought at a convention and painted it. and i'm glad you like my cosplay!my mommy made it ^__^ i'll try and get a better picture of the sword. because i'm really glad with how it turned out.

I envy your fabric store >.>

If its time, then thats valid reason, any other reason, and well I am like an angry gather scorning their child XD

If your mother made it do you know how to sew?

None the less you still edited the sword which I admire more than some cosplayers who leave it completely alone XD
