Hmm this time I have decided to make a different layout for a tutorial, instead of just a collage of pictures and the discriptions of each stage in the discription box XD. Is it easier to understand? Does the layout seem more appealing? if you could answer those it would be great XD.

Since most of the talking is done in the deviation I will just say use this tutorial to draw a perfect katana design onto a piece of wood ready to be made. Its in my Swordmaking Guide Advances skills however it was not as detailed as I wanted to so I made it stand alone and more detailed ^^

pretty cool tutorial yo >w<

If i ever feel inclined to make a katana ill follow this guide XDD

i think this way is better then the other cause theres a whole lot less scrolling back and forth trying to put the words and pictures together for it to make sense.

Pretty well explained =)
I designed my Zangetsu in that way too , theres no better way to get a nice curve on a katana ;)

This could definitely help with cosplay... I don't suppose you have any tips on making the gaurd?

Could I just point out that a katana handle is also slightly curved? Otherwise, nice tut :)

Have you ever wished you could legally own a katana?

You should try swordmaking the feeling you get of the first swing with a finished handmade sword is like shaking the hand of god ^^

And oh my I forgot about the fact you had to keep scrolling down and up T.T Guess I have got work to do ^^

Well I actually heard the method from a carpenter that makes boats! he said either using a PVC Pipe Tube or using a square wooden dowel works XD.

Back to the basics and you cannot go wrong ^^

Yep you are correct the handle is also curved!! Actually the entire katana is a curved sword though if the handle is curved it makes the sword ALOT harder to make so us swordmakers ignore it becuase it doesnt make too much of a big difference XD
