So since im starting my architecture degree at university I thought I show you the rest of my architecture models I made for my art and design subject back all the way in april! The original minor design of the glass castle is here: [link] and this is the major one
The Glass Castle
This model was complete hell to build because clear plastic was very difficult to work with. I had to score with a craft knfie all the lines to cut out the plastic properly. However since I now had clear plastic I could build the castle. But the plastic was way too thin, so I spent the majority of the time layering up plastic and making plastic blocks to build the walls and towers of the castle. The main plastic was clear plastic and I used smoke plastic for the details. This was because glass sculptures have etching that resemble smoke glass to show the details. The most difficult part was folding the plastic into a cylinder for the central tower as the plastic had huge strength and kept flying back straight. Overall this model took 20 hours to build which I built over 4 days.
Personally, I love all the details that are in the castle itself. It looks so wonderful and I was wondering how did you get the pieces to stay together?
Wow now I can say that this makes an impression. As for the frist model of this that you did was my favourite. Well the fact that I didn't write anything about your earlier model (altought I watched them all) was the they didn't look so great to me. I respect that they were hard to do and took much time but really they weren't something that I could wirte about (of course haveing few issues with my family wouldn't have help in writing consrtuctive critic). Yet making model into plastic from was in my op worth your time. You practice your skill and make the work looks great. How using different material makes the same concept look so different. And where you took the photo? Good work.
ooh someone actually writes a long constructive comment O.O why thank you 8D well to answer your points, of course the earlier models did not look that great. they were only mini models that took from 4 to 8 hours to build. On these much larger models I took as much as 10 to 20 hours to actually make them with the correct materials. But yes making it out of plastic actually made the glass castle look kinda glass like I guess. I took the photo where I always take photos of my models in my art class on a large sheet of white paper 8P
He he, yeah I don't like writing short comment. Maybe that's the reason why it always takes me so much time to write, because I have to look few times at work and the have a minimum 20 minutes to write, but I have more satisfaction this way. Especially when artists answer and there can be a discussion about the piece. And yes, now this castle looks more like a glass one XD.

but yes its all via a glue gun
Very cool. I bet you went through a lot of glue sticks.
