Zanpakuto Tsuba Designs: Pt 11 by chioky Zanpakuto Tsuba Designs: Pt 11 by chioky
:star: The Zanpakuto Tsuba Index

The purpose of these drawings is to help swordmakers and propmakers. When it comes to making katana's or zanpakuto's most of the time the tsuba is the most unique part of the sword. The tsuba is what makes the zanpakuto a one of a kind. So I drew up these closely detailed and accurate measurements of these tsuba's. With these tsuba's they act as a reference when your going to attempt to make the sword. If you use a scene from a anime or manga to make use reference for your tsuba, it might be flawed. So I have saved you the trouble and drawn them all out clearly, with measurements so you can print and cut them out.

:bulletblue: Zangetsu: Now I doubt we are ever seeing this tsuba again. However this was the second tsuba ever shown in bleach the first was rukia's. Now the problem with this tsuba is the blade is friggin huge. I havent actually been able to get a actual size of the width of the blade. This means alot becuase the tsuba changes size proportionally. So I advise people to increase the size of this tsuba proportional to the width of the blade. Also this tsuba has some hardcore details, hard ones.

:bulletblue: Isshin Kurosaki's Tsuba: Now actually I think this tsuba has about 2 panels? it was also far too blurry in the anime. Anyhow sorry for spoilers but in the small time he used his zanpakuto I noticed he had a tsuba simular to Kyoko Suigetsu. When I magnified the tsuba I saw it had so many lines running down it, it was so detailed when compared to kyoko suigetsu, which had a single running line down the middle. Anyhow this tsuba has delicate details so if your going to make this, work slowly.

:bulletblue: Important Notes:

. ALL these guards slide into swords with a thicnkess of 5 mm and 30 mm long, there are some exceptions.
.The parrallel lines are the rims of the guards that you cut out of balsa wood and glue onto the main guard.
.Download the full version, then copy and paste it, print it off then cut it out with scissors.
.Once it the paper tsuba is cut out, then draw around it with a pencil on the wood, then cut it out to finish.

Anyone have tips on what material to use? This is my first time making a replica sword prop and I want some expert opinion. I'm planning on making an Isshin Kurosaki cosplay for next years Los Angeles Anime Expo and his sword seems to be the hardest thing to find so I'm thinking about making it. Any advice helps, thanks guys! :D (And thanks so much for putting Tsuba up :'D Makes me so happy!)

Gah, and Rukia's sealed sword's tsuba is very similar to sealed Zangetsu's. (Guess why?) I'm currently working on Rukia's sword for my sister... GAH, the pain of drawing and cutting those Yin-Yang like things out! Not to mention the other ones...

it kinda makes sence since rukia gave him her powers... so he is not really wielding zangetsu... but rukia's sode no shiraki.. until he gets zangetsu while training with urahara.. but it's still a little weird i think one think that i dont understand is.. whay does it take so long for rukia to get her powers back..
