The Zanpakuto Tsuba Index

The purpose of these drawings is to help swordmakers and propmakers. When it comes to making katana's or zanpakuto's most of the time the tsuba is the most unique part of the sword. It is the part of the katana which has most of design. The tsuba is what makes the zanpakuto a one of a kind. So I drew up these closely detailed and accurate measurements of these tsuba's. With these tsuba's they act as a reference when your going to attempt to make the sword. If you use a scene from a anime or manga to make use reference for your tsuba, it might be flawed. So I have saved you the trouble and drawn them all out clearly, with measurements so you can print and cut them out.

Fenix: If you have ever seen the game Bleach: Wii Shattered Blade you will recognise this is the tsuba of the zanpakuto Fenix that the filler arrancar espada uses whos name is Arturo Plateado. This tsuba was a technical nightmare becuase of that one view point of the tsuba on the front box. The tsuba is suppose to look long, yet the closer detailed parts towards the center of the tsuba look more compact. Thus I was locked in a great big problem so I ended up spacing out the details of the tsuba outwards along the sides to free up space. However actually making and cutting out this tsuba should be a nightmare taking care not to breaking it.

Mirokumaru: Think long and hard, it will be difficult to remember whos this tsuba was. Well it is actually Senna's from the movie Bleach: Memories of Nobody. She rarely ever uses the unreleased zanpakuto so she only showed her tsuba very briefly. However just enough so I could draw it and it has spiky details like a cacti. Its always wierd Senna doesnt have a last name maybe it is becuase of the plot in the movie which i dont wanne spoiler. Though theres not much to say, well she has the first magical staff kind of zanpakuto release that bhuddist excorcist monks would use, which is actually quite relevant to the plot of the movie.

Important Notes:

. ALL these guards slide into swords with a thicnkess of 5 mm and 30 mm long, there are some exceptions.
.The parrallel lines are the rims of the guards that you cut out of balsa wood and glue onto the main guard.
.Download the full version, then copy and paste it, print it off then cut it out with scissors.
.Once it the paper tsuba is cut out, then draw around it with a pencil on the wood, then cut it out to finish.
