The Zanpakuto Tsuba Index

The purpose of these drawings is to help swordmakers and propmakers. When it comes to making katana's or zanpakuto's most of the time the tsuba is the most unique part of the sword. It is the part of the katana which has most of design. So I drew up these closely detailed and accurate measurements of these tsuba's. With these tsuba's they act as a reference when your going to attempt to make the sword. If you use a scene from a anime or manga to make use reference for your tsuba, it might be flawed. So I have saved you the trouble and drawn them all out clearly, with measurements so you can print and cut them out.

Daiguren Hyorinmaru: With the release of the new Movie: Bleach Diamond Dust Rebellion it showed that there was 2 hyorinmaru's in the world. So I decided to draw them both together. However I have already drawn hyorinmaru before, however I can avoid that problem and draw the bankai version. The only other bankai with a tsuba is ichigo's tensa zangetsu. Now you have to admit with an 8 pointed star this tsuba does look quite nice with all its sharp corners and stuff. Most people who make the bankai version, they simple make two tsuba's and just spin the bottom tsuba to fit into place.

Hyorinmaru: And this is the other version of hyorinmaru owned by the villian of the new film Bleach Diamond Dust Rebellion. Somehow there are two hyorinmaru's yet they dont bother explaining why that happened only explaining the consequences of what happens if you have two zanpakuto's. The punishment is a fight to the death how about that? anyway this was easily one of the best parts of the movie the design of the tsuba which is a beautifull spin off from the original hyorinmaru. I mean its so thin and delicate but very detailed. If I had a decision I would choose this tsuba's design.

Important Notes:

. ALL these guards slide into swords with a thicnkess of 5 mm and 30 mm long, there are some exceptions.
.The parrallel lines are the rims of the guards that you cut out of balsa wood and glue onto the main guard.
.Download the full version, then copy and paste it, print it off then cut it out with scissors.
.Once it the paper tsuba is cut out, then draw around it with a pencil on the wood, then cut it out to finish.
