Hello all

It's almost the end of another year and the start of a new one. I'm not sure how many of you are reading this journal right now, or remember who I once was. I wonder if people ever had the thought "I wonder what happened to that guy who made swords?" Well on November the 22nd 2010 I formally announced that I quit sword making. For many people I assume that was the end of my journey on this website. It's almost 2014, so If you are interested, I thought I would tell you a little bit about what I have been up to these last few years.

Looking back in why I quit swordmaking in 2010 it was simple, I started studying architecture in 2009 and it consumed all my time. University life was fun, and the course was challenging, but by the start of 2012 and the final year of my undergraduate course I had concerns about my life after university. Everybody has concerns its normal, but I knew that I was probably not going to do my masters in Architecture and thus never become an architect.

Que people telling me "you can always go back to architecture!" I might, but more importantly I discovered something I really enjoyed doing. If you ever kept up seeing my latest deviations over the years, it was model making, and man that was my crack addiction. So its midway through 2012 and I graduate from university with a Second Class Upper Honors Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. Now in my mind I was thinking "how am I ever gonna get a job".

Fast forwarding past all the depressed months of unemployment and trying to find a job in my chosen career path, I found a job that I knew I would enjoy doing. So now I have been working as an Apprentice Architectural Model Maker for almost over a year now! I moved to London to a neat and cozy house to share with random strangers in the middle of the year and embrace the London life! or not, Im still working on that. FYI living in London can be as expensive as living in New York.

So what does my job entail? well I work for an architectural model making firm, and we build models mainly for architects. Whats the best way to show off a several million dollar building project? make a model of it! watch as all the clients are a gasp in amazement, surrounding the model while furiously slapping money in your face. I liked model making in university and now I get paid to do it as a genuine job! What does the future bring? well I hope to soon finish my apprenticeship and become a fully qualified architectural model maker, but after that who knows.

Should you continue to follow my deviantart page? that's up for you to decide, the swordmaking hype train has long since reached the end of the line. I might get round to uploading photos of professionally made models that costs tens of thousands to make, depends if anybody is interested. To tell you the truth, telling my employer about my success on DeviantArt is one of the reasons why I got my job that I like now, so for that, thank you guys out there for everything.

This is not a goodbye, this is a proclamation that I am still alive, and doing what I like in life.

Every so often, I pick one of the people I watch, and run through his/her Gallery and Journal entries ... for no other reason than I just want to stay current with these folks I have come to know.  Today is your day under the microscope.  Just a note to let you know I'm still thinking about you, that you were on my mind today, and that I hope you are still pleased with your choice of employment.

Be well, my friend.
